Located in the Loess Hills, Stone State Park is 1332 acres of woodland and prairie that boasts on-site, historical and statistical information allowing visitors to learn as they bike, walk or drive through the park. There are hilltop rest areas where the view extends as far as the eye can see, into both Nebraska and South Dakota.
The center is located in Stone State Park and features a variety of interpretive displays, including a "walk under" prairie, a 400 gallon aquarium of native fish and natural history dioramas. There are two miles of hiking trails around the center as well.

The first county park acquired by the Conservation Board, Big Sioux, continues to provide fishing, canoeing and boating access opportunities to the Big Sioux River.
The 790 acre Five Ridge Prairie, a dedicated state preserve in Western Plymouth County, exemplifies the Northern Loess Bluffs of Western Iowa with a mixture of oak timbered valleys, native prairie redige tops and west facing slopes.
The 250 acre Hillview Recreation Area contains a mixture of open grasslands, reconstructed prairie, woodlands and wildlife habitat.This park also offers the closest area fishing, aside from our fishing location.
